Drawing inspiration from TV shows like Wonder Showzen and Sesame Street, influencer apology videos, viral tweets, shadow puppetry, memes and medical infomercials, Masque On channels them to create an invalid perspective of what it can mean to be disabled, online, and laughing. Drawing on the principles of Black radical traditions and disability justice, this joyful series of comedic shorts explores what we hide in “ability". Created, written, performed, illustrated, animated, researched, recorded and edited by Joselia Rebekah Hughes. Musical direction, scoring and sound design by Akeema-Zane.
